And cultivation is at the root of the sense both of culture and of cult. The ideas of tillage and worship are thus joined in culture. And these words all come from an Indo-European root meaning both "to revolve" and "to dwell." To live, to survive on the earth, to care for the soil, and to worship, all are bound at the root to the idea of a cycle. It is only by understanding the cultural complexity and largeness of the concept of agriculture that we can see the threatening diminishments implied by the term "agribusiness."

fast grow the weeds 
Is that your chicken enclosure? It’s huge and should make three chickens safe as well as happy. Mine were out on Friday and Saturday taking dust baths and thoroughly enjoying the 60 degree temp. I should have been working on my garden but was hanging lights instead. Strange to be working up a sweat at the end of November.
Actually, Meredith, that’s our arbor. Minuscule grape vines and kiwi are twining the bases. Next year, I am buying hop plants. It is my one major failure as a gardener!!
I’ll post about the new chicken enclosure soon…
