Are you a fellow Michigander? Here are the sources I will gladly stand behind. Their products are fabulous, otherwise I wouldn’t tell you about them.
Grand Rapids and environs:
West Michigan Co-Op (your one-stop shop); Farms without Harm (Holland: another cooperative of farmers); Funny Farm Organic Produce (Grant: Year-round CSA); Creswick Farms (Ravenna: grass-fed meat); Groundswell Community Farm (Zeeland: CSA with organic produce and chicken); Steve-N-Sons Grassfield Cheeses (Coopersville: superlative raw-milk cheese)
Fennville/Douglas/Glenn:
Journeyman Cafe (Fennville: all towns should have their own fabulous locally-sourced restaurant); Providence Farms (Fennville/Glenn: wonderful pastured meats)
Bangor: Eaters’ Guild (Year-round organic produce/CSA)
Michigan Flour: Ferriss Organic Farms (Eaton Rapids: Their own flours, other local bulk products); Jennings Bros. Stone-Ground Flours (Nashville: Their own flours from their grains)
Michigan Sugar: Go to the Thumb! (Bay City: Michigan Sugar Company cooperative; sugar from sugarbeets. Sugar is a very refined product, but sugarbeets in this state so far are GMO-free.)
Michigan Oil: Zeeland: Zoye Select Oil (non-GMO low-saturated fat soybean oil)
This is the new, improved blog stop: I am so glad you've found its new home.
